Betty D. Malburg

Betty Darlene Buckels Malburg, age 96, of Ottawa, KS passed away June 9, 2017, at Ottawa Retirement Village. She was born May 17, 1921, in Ottawa, the daughter of Harry Buckles and Eula Mulkey. Betty was a lifelong Ottawa resident, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1938. Following high school, she graduated from Kansas City School of Business. During her working career she worked as a Secretary at several locations most notably Hewitt Chevrolet and Doyen Insurance. She was a member of Faith Bible Church and Ottawa Bible Church. On November 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to Elvin E. Malburg at Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Malburg; ad two brothers, Larry Buckels and Robert Buckels. Survivors include four sons, Elvin Malburg, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Dale Malburg, Ottawa; Ronnie Malburg, Belleville, Illinois; and Dudley Malburg, Ottawa; one daughter, Rita Malburg Pollom, Silver Lake, Kansas; seven grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren Visitation is set for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa with services scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
