Bonnie Mignot Obituary

Bonnie Ann (Wilhite) Mignot passed away Thursday, September 01, 2016 at the Olathe Medical Center's Hospice House in Olathe, KS. She was born May 22, 1942 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Lester) Wilhite. She attended schools in Dallas, Oregon and Ottawa, KS before graduating from Princeton High School in Princeton, KS. Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert Mignot on June 21, 1961 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa. They shared over fifty-five years of marriage. Bonnie worked as a bookkeeper for Bob's Super Saver Grocery Store Chain in Gardner, KS for thirty years before retiring in 2002 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Bonnie loved to sew and make crafts. She owned a cabin at Truman Lake since 1979, sold the cabin and built a new home in 2004 and permanently moved to Warsaw, MO from Wellsville, KS in 2005. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren on the Pontoon at the lake; going to Worlds of Fun and Silver Dollar City; wintering in Texas and spending summers in Wisconsin; and listening to country music. Mrs. Mignot was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bertha Wilhite. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Warsaw, MO; two daughters, Teri Hiatt and her husband, Bob of Ottawa, KS and Debra McCullough and her husband, Vince of Wellsville, KS; two sisters, Karol Chenoweth and her partner, Danny of Grove, OK and Margaret Messinger and her husband, Gordon of Columbia, MO; three brothers, John Wilhite and his wife, Joanna of Grove, OK, Lester Wilhite of Gardner, KS and Fred Wilhite of Columbia, MO; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S, Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Interment will follow at Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, KS. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home before the service and immediately after the burial will gather at the Wellsville Community Center at 7th and Locust in Wellsville.
