Danny Drum

Danny Lee Drum, age 79, of Baldwin City, KS passed away May 16, 2015. He was born January 31, 1936 in Williamsburg, KS, the son of Cecil "Scoop" Drum and Nora (Pearson) Drum. Danny graduated from Appanoose High School with the class of 1954. He would serve our country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Following his active duty time, Danny served six years in the Army Reserve. He worked in the graphic arts industry as a stitcher operator and later as a bindery operator for Kansas Color Press, Standard Hart Printing, and Dimension Graphics. Danny retired in 2000. Danny was a member of the Centropolis Christian Church. He was also a member of the Baldwin Golf Association for thirty years. Danny was united in marriage to Carol Cates on October 4, 1963 in Chanute, KS. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2000. Danny is also preceded in death by his parents. Danny is survived by a daughter, Susan England and husband, Shad, Baldwin City; a son, Guy Drum, Baldwin City; three grandsons, Jody Drum, Baldwin City, Cory Stephens, The Dalles, Oregon, and Garrett England, Baldwin City; two granddaughters, Jade Drum, Lawrence, KS, and Emily England, Baldwin City; a great-grandson, Trayvon Joseph; and a sister, Dorothy Pritchard, and husband, Phil, Pomona, KS. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Worden United Methodist Church, Worden, KS. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Worden United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery, ½ mile west of the Baldwin Junction.
