Darwin M. Goodman

DARWIN M. GOODMAN, 81 of Topeka, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born March 12, 1934 in Bancroft, Kansas the son of Paul E. and Clare M. (Brown) Goodman. He graduated from the Seneca High School in Seneca, Kansas in 1953. He served our country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1962. Darwin was united in marriage to Rosalyn B. Rogers February 2, 1978 in Topeka, Kansas. They have shared thirty-seven years of marriage. Mr. Goodman worked for Jostens Printing and Publishing as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for twenty-five years. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Pepsi Cola, and Whelan Lumber all in Topeka. Darwin was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul E. Goodman Jr., Glenn A. Goodman, and Galen D. Goodman; and three sisters, Mildred Chase, Evelyn Gleason, and Virginia Blake. Survivors include his wife, Rosalyn of the home; step-daughter, Vickie Rogers and husband Dan Rethman), stepsons, Tony Rogers and wife Mitzi Cafer-Rogers and Dennis Rogers all of Topeka, KS; his special buddy, Austin Ferguson; brother, Loren Goodman of Silver Lake, KS; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Darwin was one in a million, he was a good man and he never knew a stranger. He also enjoyed country music and woodworking. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Interment with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to South Knollwood Baptist Church, Topeka, KS.
