Garry James Lingo

Garry James Lingo, age 67 of Pomona, KS passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, KS. He was born December 19, 1948 in Ottawa, KS the son of Lester and Ada Elsie (Beard) Lingo. He grew up and attended schools in Waverly, KS. He married Dora Ann Bulson on February 22, 1969 in Leavenworth, KS. Garry was a truck driver, small engine mechanic and farmer. He worked for Ottawa Machinery and Dodge; Underwood Equipment; Sheldon/Kile Equipment and retired with Killough Construction Company in 2010. He attended Church of Christ in Waverly, KS and The Community Foursquare Church in Ottawa, KS. Garry enjoyed spending time with his family and restoring tractors and cars in his spare time. Mr. Lingo was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nadine Caple, Rosemary Kunard and Fern McDougal; a brother, Edwin Lingo; and a nephew, Ken Caple. He is survived by wife, Dora Ann Lingo of Pomona, KS; two daughters, Sherry Sullivan of Pomona, KS and Terri Brilke and husband, Mark of Pomona, KS; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Shawn Sullivan, Kodiak Brannan and Kaden Brilke; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Clark and Emery and Natalie Jones and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Interment will follow at Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.
