Janice Wilkins

Janice L. Wilkins, 70, of Ottawa, KS passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, KS. She was born November 14, 1947 in Carroll, Iowa the daughter of Earl R. Davis and Marjorie L. (Petzenhausen) Davis. She grew up and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, IA. She attended college in Cedar Rapids, IA where she met her future husband, Roger C. Crews. Janice moved to Ottawa, KS in 1970 with her husband Roger where they owned and operated a Daylight Doughnut Shop downtown for several years. She and Roger later founded, owned and operated R & J Accounting in Ottawa, KS where Janice worked as an accountant and tax advisor. Janice was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ottawa, KS where she volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She also was a member of the Ottawa Soroptimist Club for many years. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, sewing and reading in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Roger C. Crews and Arnold P. Wilkins; and a sister, Suzanne K. Dozler. Janice is survived by two sons, Roger N. Crews and his wife Christy M. of Linwood, KS; and Matthew P. Wilkins of Ottawa, KS; her sister Monica Christensen and husband Paul of Manning, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Sadie Crews. To celebrate Janice's life, services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church, 315 W. 5th Street, Ottawa, KS. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS.
