Julia Monique Gillespie, 45, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away March 14, 2015 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Julia was born in Fort Ord, CA on November 28, 1969, the daughter of Lewis Bourgeois and Marilyn Ruth (Burkhart) Bourgeois. She grew up in North San Diego County, California. She moved to Baldwin City, KS in 1992 and recently to her current rural home of Ottawa. Julia worked as a student para professional at Baldwin Intermediate Center for five years, Mediacom for three years and was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Worden United Methodist Church, a Douglas County Relay for Life volunteer, a member of Women of Faith and was very active in her church. She was united in marriage with David (Hank) Gillespie on February 2, 2002 in Quinter, Kansas. He survives of the home. Julia is survived by her parents, Lewis and Marilyn Ruth Bourgeois; two sons, Cole Anthony Ingram of Lawrence and Joshua Paul Ingram of Lawrence, a daughter Joslyn Ruth Monique Ingram of Ottawa; two brothers, Jason Andrew Bourgeois of Burleson, TX and Jonathan Michael Bourgeois of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Sarah Ruth Jones of Lawrence, KS and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Faith Allen, father-in-law Wallace Piper and grandfather John Francis Burkhart. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Worden United Methodist Church.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Worden Methodist Church.
