Lee Robbins Obituary

Lee Duane Robbins, 82, of Baldwin City, KS passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home. Lee was born June 11, 1933 at Salina, KS the son of Albert Lee and Florence Irene (Smith) Robbins. He grew up and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1951. Mr. Robbins served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Wilda May Markley June 9, 1957 in Centropolis, KS. They shared fifty-eight years of marriage. Lee worked for FMC Corporation as Traffic Coordinator for 35 years. He also previously worked for Sunflower Ammunition Plant, Calary Chemical, Spencer Chemical and at one time had his own rural milk route. Lee was a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Church established by his Grandfather in Peoria, KS. He loved to hunt, golf, fish, camp, and travel. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially enjoyed watching his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports. He enjoyed hobby farming his cow/calf herd and making hay. He loved the outdoors and nature, he enjoyed Pheasant hunting in Western Kansas and having dogs for his pets. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Saundra Robbins (sister-in-law) and Jonathan Johnson (great-grandson). He is survived by his wife, Wilda of the home; three sons, Tony Robbins and his wife Dorothy of Missouri, Michael L. Robbins and his wife Carmen of League City, TX and Jerry Robbins and his wife Erva of Oskaloosa, KS; daughter, Brenda Roberts and her husband Randy of Baldwin City, KS; three brothers, Bobby Robbins and wife Betty of Lawrence, KS, Jim Robbins and wife Judy of Borger, TX and Leonard Robbins and wife Linda of Pomona, KS; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews and cousins. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, KS. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 712 9th Street, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
