Leslie A. Syens

Leslie A. Syens, age 66 of Ottawa, passed away March 2, 2018 at his home. He was born in Randolph, WI, February 15, 1952 the son of Clifford L. Syens and Gladys G (Elgersma) Syens. He graduated from Randolph High School, Randolph, WI, with the class of 1970. In 1971 Leslie moved to the Ottawa, KS area and began working as a Drywall Hanger. He worked for various employers but most of his years were spent working for C.K. Lot. He also worked for the past two years or American Eagle, Ottawa. Leslie was united in marriage to Rosalie Sittlington in 1970. They later divorced. He married Julie Cowdin in 1980. They also later divorced. Leslie is also survived by eight children, Berry Syens, Olathe, KS, Tracy Syens, Omaha, NE, Jeney Syens, Iowa City, IA, Andrew Syens, Gardner, KS, Aleck Syens, Gardner, KS, Caitlyn Cook, Gardner, KS, Nicole Houston, Topeka, KS, Kelsey Roberson, Paola, KS; his mother, Gladys G. Syens, Randolph, Wi; three brothers, Robert Syens, Orlando, FL, James Syens and his wife, Tracy, Randolph, WI, Richard Syens and his wife, Terry, Libertyville, IL; two sisters, Nancy Godfrey and her husband, Terry, Madison, WI, Candice Miller and her husband, Randy, Richfield, WI; and ten nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Clifford Syens. Cremation services are planned. A private service will be planned at a later date.
