Mary Ellen Rupp

MARY ELLEN RUPP, 91, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home. She was born September 14, 1923 in Longmont, Colorado the daughter of William Noah and Orpha Blanche (Cazer) Billmire. She married Walter E. Rupp on March 14, 1942 in Santa Ana, California. They shared sixty-two years of marriage before the death of her husband on December 4 2004. In 1979, Walter and Mary moved to Ottawa, Kansas from Twin Peaks, CA. Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ottawa. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, a brother, Robert Billmire; and two grandchildren, Carol Rupp and Donald Rupp. Mary is survived by three sons, Walter L. Rupp and wife Jean of Hemet, CA; Gary G. Rupp and wife Elizabeth of The Villages, FL and Scott J. Rupp and wife Milagro of CA; daughter, Sandra K. and husband Dennis Sloop of Ottawa, KS; 7 grandchildren, Jeff Sloop and wife Lauri of Lenexa, KS, Chris Sloop of Hager City, Wisconsin, Kimberly and husband Mark Barraclough of Pomona, KS, Robin Rupp of Hudson, FL, Angela Prince and husband Theron of Monroe, NC, Jeremy Rupp and wife Lori of Fredricksburg, VA, David Rupp and wife Betty Kay of Lake Arrowhead, CA; Kevin Rupp of Corona, CA, and Laura & husband David David of Big Bear Lake, CA; 20 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; a brother, Donald and wife Jeanie Billmire of Coeur d'Alene, ID; and a sister, Roberta and husband Charles Ferrel of Rathdrum, ID. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Graveside services and Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, KS.
