Miles Duane Floyd

Miles Duane Floyd, age 65, of Ottawa, KS passed away October 16, 2017, Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. He was born May 20, 1952, in Ottawa, the son of Max W. Floyd and Marjorie A. (Brink) Floyd. Miles was a graduate of Ottawa High school, graduating with the class of 1970. He later received his Associates Degree from DeVry University. Miles held several different professions during his life. He helped construction of Basements, worked at Wal-Mart Distribution, Kennel-Aire, and was the Copy Repair man for Hotz Office Systems for ten years all of his jobs being in Ottawa. His final profession was as a hydraulic pump manufacturer with Sauer-Danfoss retiring in 2006. Mile served his country proudly from 1970 to 1976 in the United Sates Navy earning the rank of E-5. On February 14, 1978 Miles was united in marriage to Kathryn Curry at the Trinity United Methodist Church. They shared over thirty-nine years of marriage. Miles was a member of the Ottawa Church of the Nazarene as well as an active member of the church Worship Team. Miles is survived by his wife Kathryn of the home; daughter, Cassandra Hennslee, Olathe; two sons, Nick Floyd and his wife, Sarah, Salina, Robert Floyd, Ottawa; brother, Martin Floyd and his wife Becky, Lawrence; sister-in-law, Linda Floyd, Ottawa; and three grandchildren, Taylor Shewey, Felsee Hennslee, Andrew Miles Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mike and Mark Floyd. Mr. Floyd's family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 18, 2017 at the Ottawa Church of the Nazarene, Ottawa, KSA Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the church.
