Rosemary Faye (Miller) Stratton, age 69, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, March 18, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born September 20, 1948, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert and Mary (Wert) Miller. On July 7, 1973, she married the love of her life, Dale Stratton, at her home in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. Together they pastored churches in Florida, Missouri, Colorado, and Kansas. Wherever she and Dale went, Rosemary loved serving as hostess to people of the church, as well as to family and friends who traveled through. She was truly talented at serving others and was deeply loved by all. Rosemary took her responsibilities as wife and mother very seriously and worked tirelessly to manage the household, cook delicious meals, and raise her children to live for Jesus. A testament to that is the fact that all five of her children are actively serving the Lord in full-time Christian ministry today. Another of Rosemary's passions was teaching school. Throughout most of her adult life, she was either homeschooling her children or teaching in a Christian school, most recently Pilgrim Bible Academy in Ottawa. She loved her students and poured herself into teaching them, not only academic subjects, but also good morals, ethics, and character. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Miller. She is survived by her husband, Dale, of forty-four years; five children and their spouses, Stephanie (Glenn) Gault of Lesotho, Africa, Stephen (Tracy) Stratton of West York, IL, Jonathan (Joana) Stratton of Hobe Sound, FL, Jeffrey (Shari) Stratton of Chambersburg, PA, and Joseph (Fernanda) Stratton of Ottawa, KS; ten grandchildren-Carson, Kaitlyn, Ryleigh, Kristen, Grant, Kylee, Sabrina, Kristell, Caleb, and Cole; as well as her sister Judith (Bill) Houser of Hershey, PA; her brother Timothy Miller of Lancaster, PA; and her sister-in-law Verna Mae (Kenneth) Buckwalter. She will also be loved and remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Friends and family and others whose lives Rosemary touched are invited to a time of visitation at Pilgrim Bible Church in Ottawa on Thursday, March 22, from 6-8 PM, as well as to a service to celebrate Rosemary's life and home-going on Friday, March 23, at 10 AM, also at Pilgrim Bible Church, with her sons officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Mound Cemetery.
