Teresa L. Pemberton

Teresa L. (Gabel) Pemberton, age 91, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away February 8, 2015, at Stratford Commons in Overland Park, KS. Teresa was born May 28, 1923, in Muncie, KS, the daughter of John Gabel and Margaret (Reardon) Gabel. Teresa will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Teresa worked for Cowden Manufacturing Company from 1941 - 1945 making clothes for the United States Army. Teresa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Guild. She was also a member of the Emory Green Social Club. Teresa was married to David L. Pemberton on November 15, 1947 in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2006. Teresa is also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Henry, Daniel and John Gabel; and three sisters, Anna, Rosetta and Mary Gabel. She is survived by her sister-in law, Mary Ann Gabel (John) of Overland Park, KS. Teresa is survived by eight children: David Pemberton, Houston, TX, John Pemberton (Kris), Arvada, CO, Joe Pemberton (Roxanne), Paola, KS, Don Pemberton (Mary), Ft. Scott, KS, and Ken Pemberton (Yuneh), Naperville, IL; Kathleen Pemberton, Ottawa, KS, Mary Webb (Johnny), Salisbury, NC, and Janice Goldsby, DeSoto, KS; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015, with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Chapel, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS. Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa, KS. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.
