Vickie Sue Carr

Vickie Sue (Clark) Carr, 67 of Ottawa, KS passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, KS. She was born August 5, 1949 in Stratton, CO the daughter of Kenneth and Arlyne (Windell) Clark. She grew up and attended schools in Nebraska and Colorado. Vickie moved to Ottawa, KS in 1972 where she was a homemaker. She later worked for Parmelee Plastics, ALCO, and HD Lee, all in Ottawa, and also Mid-America Plastics in Gardner, KS. She married Manford Carr on May 9, 1988 in Ottawa, KS. They shared over twenty-eight years of marriage. Vickie enjoyed spending time with family and friends; taking photos of the grandchildren; she loved her three dogs, Riley, Anabelle, Maggie and a cat, Zoey. She enjoyed shopping for shoes and purses; reading; and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cathy Baasch; a son, Charles Carr; and a granddaughter, Brittanie Welborn. Surviving family include her husband, Manford Carr of Ottawa, KS; four daughters, Linda Anderson and her husband Cris of Rantoul, KS, Kristie Welborn and her husband Robert of Ottawa, KS, Lisa Huntley and her husband Shawn of Osawatomie, KS, Geneva L. Carroll and her husband Virgil of Burlington Junction, MO; three sons, Ersel W. Carr and his wife Esther of Stilwell, KS, John H. Carr and his wife Arlene of Olathe, KS, and Manford C. Carr Jr. and his wife Cynthia of La Harpe, KS; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. To celebrate Vickie's life a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Inurnment will follow at the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, KS. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service.
