Carl Leon Smith

Carl Leon Smith, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died Monday, April 22, 2024 in Colorado Springs, CO.

He was born August 14, 1944 in Lavern, Oklahoma the son of Leonard and Blanche (Luinstra) Smith.  After graduating from Medicine Lodge High School, Carl earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in computer and electrical engineering from Rice University. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Blanche Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Smith; his son, Brian Smith and his wife, Juli, of Colorado Springs, CO; and some cousins.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory Street, Ottawa, KS 66067. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
