Charlotte Ann Snover, 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 18, 1943 in Farmington, New Mexico, the daughter of Eugene Christenson and Geraldine (Nichols) Christenson. As a child, Charlotte traveled the US with her family due to her father being a traveling brick mason. They settled in Hutchinson, KS and later to Topeka, KS. Charlotte met Robert Edmund "Smokey" Snover Jr., in 1967 and later married. They made Beaumont, Texas their home, until later returning to Kansas. Charlotte is survived by six children; Lyle Wheeler of Burlington, KS, Cora Lynn (Doran Wormell), of Pomona, KS, Robin (Steve Phillips) of Olathe, KS, Dustin Snover (Kathy) of Ottawa, KS, Robert "Bobby" Snover (Robin "Choley") of Ottawa, KS, Amber Snover-Dryden (Jeff James) of Ottawa, KS; eleven grandchildren, Doran Ray, Brandon, Tyler, Jeremy, Brooke, Austin, Mallory, Zowie, Michael, Jaxson, Abigail; thirteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was very proud of the many hats she wore in her lifetime of careers. She worked as a waitress at Ira Price's Cafe, Topeka, KS, Catfish Kitchen and Hobos Restaurant in Texas. She also earned her Upholstery degree and worked independently out of Smokey's shops while in Texas. After settling back in Ottawa, Charlotte worked at the Horseshoe Café and was the owner and operator of two upholstery shops, Charlotte's Upholstery and Rags to Riches. She worked at Pome on the Range while earning her two degrees as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medical Assistant from Neosho County Community College in Ottawa. She worked many years at Ottawa Retirement Village Manor and Plaza Assisted Living, as well as Sunset Manor of Waverly, Kansas until she retired. Hard work and dedication were obvious traits of Charlotte. She always worked hard to provide for her family. Charlotte's most proud accomplishments in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte's personality was very unique, she could be sweet and kind, stubborn and sassy all rolled into one. She leaves her family and friends with so many amazing memories and smiles. Charlotte always stood by her family's side, no matter right, wrong, or indifferent. She would want her family, especially her grandchildren, which she loved dearly, to keep her stubborn fire alive in their hearts forever. Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Christenson; mother, Geraldine Christenson; twelve siblings, Chris, Betty, Butchy, Marvin, Donna, Tom, June, Shirley, Billy, Harold, Elsie and Vivian; grandson, Trevor Wormell; great granddaughter, Zailin Wormell, and son-in-law, Derick Dryden.
