Cleda M Finch

Cleda May Finch, age 88, of Ottawa, KS, passed away October 15, 2019, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. She was born September 6, 1931 in Pomona, KS, the daughter of Joe Mitchell and Mary (Thomas) Mitchell. Cleda was a lifelong Ottawa resident attending Ottawa High School. Cleda was a homemaker and housewife. Cleda loved to go looking for antiques. She loved her flowers and she dearly loved her Pekingese dogs. She was a wonderful cook and was well known in her family for her Peanut Butter candy and her homemade bread. She loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with them. On October 27, 1949, Cleda was united in marriage to Virgil Finch in Paola, KS. They shared sixty three years of loving marriage until the death of Virgil in 2013. Cleda is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gail Mitchell, Gene Mitchell; and two sisters, Melba Tull, Marjorie Johnston. She is survived by two daughters, Pam Finch, Ottawa, Sheryl Woodward and her husband, Martin, Ottawa; brother Willard Mitchell and his wife, Betty, Burlington, KS; brother-in-law, Ralph Finch and his wife, Candy, Ottawa; three grandchildren, Andrea Gladson and her husband, Rob, Olathe, KS, Adam Wise and his wife, Jennifer, Ottawa, Sara Laymance and her husband, Steven, Ottawa; and four great grandchildren, Kelsey and her husband, Zach, Marlee, Madison, and Zoe. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday October 18, 2019 at Fouts Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.
