Dolores Henrietta Jardon

Dolores Henrietta Jardon, age 94, of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away April 14, 2020 at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation. She was born May 16, 1925 in Eudora, KS, the daughter of Edward Hadl, Sr. and Isabella (Madl) Hadl. She graduated from Vinland High School. Dolores was a lifelong Baldwin City resident. Dolores was united in marriage to Bourke Jardon in Baldwin City, KS on October 1, 1947. They shared over 32 years of loving marriage until Bourke passed away on October 28, 1980. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City. She worked for Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation for over 30 years as a cook and housekeeper. She also cooked for Baldwin elementary schools in addition to being a busy mother to five children. Dolores was a woman of many talents. As a cook, she was renowned for her cinnamon rolls and German food. She could play the guitar, piano, and harmonica by ear! Dee had a great love of planting flowers and gardening. Holiday meals were very important and spring cleaning was never missed. She also liked to crotchet afghans. She regularly went out for meals and concerts with her friends. She could be found watching western movies or trying to decide on where to display the next of over four hundred coffee mugs. She had a great love of anything chocolate. She was generous towards sponsoring children in foreign countries through charities. But most of all she loved her enormous family and her animals! She is survived by four sons, Donald Jardon, Lawrence, KS, Robert (Celia) Jardon, Leavenworth, KS, Patrick (Ginger) Jardon, Baldwin City, KS, and John (Gloria) Jardon, Ottawa, KS; a daughter, Mary Jardon, Baldwin City, KS; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter-in-law, Brenda Jardon, and four brothers, Don, Alan, Loren, and Edward Jr. A private family committal service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2020 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Baldwin City, KS. The family plans to have a funeral mass at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Lawrence Humane Society, Mt.
