Fred F. Fehrenbach, age 86 of Ottawa, KS, passed away August 16, 2019 at Wellsville Retirement Community, Wellsville, KS. A funeral mass will be said at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 23, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa. A rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa, followed by a visitation for family and friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Fred was born January 15, 1933 in Wyandotte County, KS, the son of Frank and Josephine (Wolters) Fehrenbach. Fred graduated from Washington Rural High School in Bethel, KS with the class of 1951. Fred was a lifelong farmer. He began his life farming the family farm in Wyandotte County, KS until purchasing and moving to their current farm in rural Franklin County, KS in 1964. Fred loved his farm. He farmed full time until he turned 81. His equipment was kept in meticulous condition. He spent many hours in the barn keeping up his farm equipment bringing it up to almost new form. He even went as far to wax his combine from time to time. He built his home himself and then went on to build seven other homes for people. His craftsmanship was a sight to behold. When he needed to take break it was usually for a drive in his Buick that had to have almost a half a million miles on it. He drove it everywhere and was very proud to have driven it to 40 of the 50 states. Fred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. He served on the Sacred Heart School Board and served for numerous years on the Ottawa Co-op Board. Fred also served his country in his youth as a member of the Kansas National Guard. On Monday, September 5, 1955 (Labor Day), Fred was united in marriage to Adrianna Manczuk at St. Patrick's Church in Bethel, KS. The loving couple celebrated their sixty-second anniversary prior to the death of Adrianna in 2018. He is survived by two sons, Michael Fehrenbach of Walnut Shade, MO, David Fehrenbach and Jackie Flanigan as well as her children, John and Emma, of Wabasha, MN; a brother, Don Fehrenbach, Naples, FL; and a nephew Phil McDonald, Oakland, CA. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Adrianna Fehrenbach, and a sister, Mary Ann McDonald.
