Janifer Van Zula (Sells) Dorsey, 83, of St. Paul, KS, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village, St. Paul, KS.   She was born November 6, 1933 in Camden, TN, the daughter of Roy James Sells and Jetta Buna (Wyatt) Sells. She grew up Tennessee and Arkansas until settling in the Bronson and Uniontown, KS areas and later moving to Richmond, KS and eventually in Altamont, KS. On December 16, 1950, Janifer was united to James Lee Dorsey in St. Louis, MO. They later divorced. Janifer was a lifelong homemaker for her family as well as from 1978 to 1986 working as the Head cook for the Uniontown, KS School district. During her time as the cook the school went from serving thirty percent of the students to ninety-nine percent of the students, due in large part to her excellent cooking. She was a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church, First Missionary Baptist Church and Uniontown Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress who also loved gardening and of course loved to cook for her family and friends. Janifer loved her family deeply and dearly. Her love of her family extended beyond her own children to her nieces and nephews and many other children of the community. She was a natural nurturer who everyone she came in contact with loved and revered. Janifer is survived by her son, James Lawrence "Larry" Dorsey and his wife, Nancy, Altamont, KS; daughters, Jetta Mae Dorsey, Williston, N.D., Rebecca Ellen Dorsey and her husband Michael Brown, Rantoul, KS; grandchildren, Matthew DiBello, Stephanie Dorsey, Dylan Ivey, K.J.
