Joe Taul Obituary

Joe Ed Taul, 95, of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away April 21, 2018 at his home. He was born October 19, 1922 in Paradise, MO the son of Burton L. Taul and Myrtle (Hibbard) Taul. When Joe Ed was a small child, he remembered his grandparents telling him that Jesse James and the Dalton Gang actually sat down to a meal at their family home as they were passing through Missouri. At the age of ten, Joe Ed moved with his family to Baldwin City, KS where he spent the remaining eighty-five years of his life. On March 17, 1946 Joe Ed was united in marriage to Louise Reams at the Baldwin First United Methodist Church. They celebrated seventy years of marriage together until her death, July 16, 2016. Joe Ed and Louise had four children all of who survive, Martha Christie and late husband, Mike, Jimmie Taul and wife, Carol, Johnnie Taul and wife, Jane all of Baldwin City and Marilyn Taul of Overland Park, KS. He has eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and he is also survived by a brother, C.T. Taul of Baldwin City as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Joe Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Louise; parents B.L. and Myrtle Taul; son-in-law Mike Christie; brothers, Hibbard Taul and his wife, Marie, Jamie Taul; sisters Julia Heinen and her husband, Alvin, Letha Mae Gilliland and her husband, Glenn, and sister-in-law Betty Taul. In his younger days he enjoyed playing right field on the Baldwin Junction Baseball team and coyote hunting. Joe Ed was a longtime dairy farmer/farmer who worked from sun up to sun down. It was nothing to see tractor lights in the fields late at night or a Welder going in the shop at night to make repairs from equipment being broken by Jimmie and Johnnie during the day.
