John Shubin

John Shubin, 72, Ottawa, KS passed away Saturday, January 14, 2016 at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, KS. He was born June 27, 1944 in Whittier, CA, the son of John Rosand and June (French) Warren. John grew up in California moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1998 and to Ottawa in 2009. Joh was an over-the road freight truck driver. He worked for All Freight Systems, Kansas City, for over 33 years retiring in 2016. From 1961 to 1965 he served his country in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War. He married Priscilla Combado Castro in Culver City, CA in 1965. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Surviving family includes three sons, Eric Shubin of Van Nuys, CA, John Shubin Jr. of Spring Hill, KS, and James Shubin of Wellsville, KS; six siblings, Larry Shubin, Fort Worth, TX, Steve Shubin, Austin, TX, Virginia Smith, Arizona, Jim Shubin, Colorado, Mike Shubin, California, Melinda O'Connor, California; and nine grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date. Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067 is in charge of arrangements.
