Lucille V. Crawford, age 84 of Ottawa, passed away, August 7, 2019 at Rock Creek Nursing Home of Ottawa. She was born in Ottawa, KS, March 29, 1935 the daughter of Shirley and Alice Davis. Lucille was a lifelong Franklin County resident graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1953. On June 7th 1953, Lucille was united in marriage with her one and only love and true soul mate Alvin Crawford. They shared sixty-two years of marriage together. Lucille worked for thirty years as a Lead Supervisor at King Radio in Ottawa, retiring in 1991. After retirement Lucille and Alvin starting wintering in Texas eventually staying full time, until 2011 when they decided to come back home to be closer to their kids and grandchildren whom he adored. Lucille was a member of the First Christian Church, Ottawa and the Night Crawlers camping club. Alvin and Lucille loved the outdoors. Many summer days were spent at the Pomona Lake Outlet Park with family just enjoying their company and nature. She also loved to travel, in particular to Texas. Lucille was a fun loving ornery spirited woman. She loved to tease and was always quick to tell you she was "fat and sassy" if you asked how she was doing. She was an avid bird watcher and loved flowers. She was never idle, she was always up doing something. When the grandchildren stopped by to visit Lucille was always happy they were there. She loved her family deeply and they all knew it, even her beloved dog, Maggie. She is survived by two children; Reid Crawford, Richmond, KS, Robin Horne and her husband, Mike, Ottawa; two daughters-in-law, Trela Crawford, Ottawa, Sherry Crawford, Ottawa; seven grandchildren, Holly Showalter, Jason Crawford, John Crawford, Josh Crawford, Jenna Rubick, Trey Horne, Logan Horne; seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Crawford; her parents; two sons, Randy Crawford, Rick Crawford; brother, William Kretzer, sister, Betty Barton; and a grandson-in-law, Shon Showalter. Memorial funeral services will be 3:00p.m., August 17, 2019 at First Christian Church, Ottawa. Private inurnment services will take place at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, at a later date.
