Mary Louise Hoy

Mary Louise Hoy, age 68, of Overbrook, KS, passed away March 14, 2019, at her home. She was born August 6, 1950 in Twin Mound, KS, the daughter of Floyd Trout and Mary Alice (Schirmer) Trout. Mary was a lifelong Osage County resident graduating from Overbrook High School with the class of 1969. On February 21, 1969, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Hoy, Jr. at her parents' home in Twin Mound. They just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Mary was a devoted homemaker and loving wife. She worked at the meat packing plant in Overbrook when she was younger. Later she worked as a C.N.A. at Brookside Manor in Overbrook and lastly at Jostens in Topeka in the yearbook lamination department. She was a skilled seamstress who made most of her own children's clothes and many of her grandchildren's. She also made a quilt for every grandchild. She enjoyed ceramics and painting, but she most enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, of the home; sons, Matthew Lee Hoy and Clifford Ray Hoy and daughter, Ora Louise Mitchell and husband Russell all of Overbrook; sister, Dorothy Wulfkuhle and her husband, Duane of Topeka, KS; brothers, Ed Trout and his wife, Kay of Overbrook, Bill Trout of Osage City, KS, Larry Trout and his wife, Jean, of Overbrook, John Trout and his wife, Sharon of Overbrook; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild with another on the way. Mary is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Overbrook United Methodist Church in Overbrook, KS. Interment will follow at Overbrook Cemetery, Overbrook, KS. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March, 17, 2019 at the Greenwood -Roberts Funeral Home.
