Melanie Dionne

Melanie Kay Dionne, 50, of Richmond, Kansas passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at her home. She was born September 9, 1969 in Fort Fairfield, Maine the daughter of Frederick and Kathleen (Snover) Dionne. She grew up and attended schools in Waterbury, Connecticut, graduating from Wilby High School in 1987. Melanie moved with her family to Richmond, Kansas in 1996. She worked for Central Heights USD 288 School System in the Kitchen for many years. She worked for Collection Agencies in Wellsville and Ottawa, Kansas and later working at the Vision Center at the Ottawa Walmart Supercenter. Melanie loved being a Mom, spending time with her children and attending family events. She had a good sense of humor and loved taking selfies; shopping; traveling; visiting local sunflower fields and pumpkin patches and spending time at the lake. She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Dionne and a sister, Denise Owens. Melanie is survived by a daughter, Mercedes Goodman of Richmond, KS; a son, Malakai Dionne of Richmond, KS; her mother, Kathleen Dionne of Richmond, KS; two brothers, Frederick Dionne Jr. and his wife, Helen of Oakley, KS and John Dionne and his wife, Penny of Richmond, KS; a sister, Susan Frable of Richmond, KS; her grandmother, Joni Smoke of Palm Bay, FL; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and her dog, Echo. To celebrate Melanie's life, the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
