Neva M. Snyder, 89, of Ottawa, KS, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Comfort Care Homes, Ottawa, KS. She was born July 20, 1927 in Erie, KS, the daughter of Roy Miller and Lillie (Meredith) Miller. She graduated from Erie High School with the class of 1945. On July 18, 1948, Neva was united in marriage to William C. Snyder in Erie, KS. They shared over 63 years of loving marriage until the passing of William on January 26, 2012. They had five children, Shirley A. Webb of Blue Springs, MO, Pamela K. Bishop of Williamsburg, KS, William R. Snyder of Ottawa, Kevin C. Snyder, deceased and Craig D. Snyder of Toledo, OH; twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Neva is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; one son, Kevin; one brother, Hurley Miller; and a sister, Viola Miller. Neva had many careers in her long and fruitful life including dump truck driver, legal secretary, Ottawa University secretary, for most of her working life she was a trust officer for Peoples Bank, Ottawa, retiring in 1989. Neva was a leader of Job's Daughters, a member of the First Christian Church, Ottawa, Neva and Bill were member of the Chippewa Good Sam's camping Club. They enjoyed spending their winters in Donna, TX with the group along with their monthly get togethers and the jamborees. Over the years they both took kids into their house that were their kid's friends. They were known as unofficial and underappreciated foster parents to them all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the First Christian Church, Ottawa. Interment will be at East Hill Cemetery, Erie, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Chapel.
