Theodore Crook

Theodore W. "Ted" Crook, 72 of Overbrook, KS was delivered unto eternal life, Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS. Ted was born September 18, 1946 in Topeka, KS the son of Lawrence Leslie Crook and Sarah (Benton) Crook. He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School. He served our country during the Vietnam Conflict in the United State Air Force and was stationed in Korea. He was united in marriage to Helen Earlene Bledsoe on May 6, 1966 in Topeka, Kansas. They shared nearly forty-eight years of marriage before her death on February 21, 2014. Ted was a Carpenter by trade. He took great pride in building his own home. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially attending all of his kids' ball games. Ted also gave the Best Hugs. He is survived by four children, David (Lisa) Crook of El Dorado, KS, Matthew (Deidra) Crook of O'Fallon, Illinois, Andrew Crook of Overbrook and Amy (Kevin) Safarik of Topeka; eleven grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Iko, Faith (H'Enrie) Williams, Michael Crook, Danielle (Austin) Reser, Steven and Claire Crook, Evan Craig, Makayla LaMastres-Craig and Brock and Bryson Safarik; three great grandchildren, Selah, Miriam and Penelope; siblings Jeanette (Newell) Hampton of Montrose, Colorado, Marjorie (Jack) Kramer of Topeka, Larry (Dolly) Crook of Pueblo, Colorado, Merle (Jimilee) Crook of Lancaster, South Carolina, Nancy (Dean) Rosa of Norborne, Missouri, Jean (Doug) DeWitt of Berryton, KS, Kim Taylor of Topeka, KS, numerous cousins; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Grace Community Church, 310 E. 8th Street, Overbrook, KS 66524. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery, rural Carbondale, KS. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, 730 Western Heights Drive, Overbrook, KS 66524.
