Walter L. Tegtmeyer

Walter L. Tegtmeyer, 66 of Ottawa, KS passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, KS. He was born March 3, 1950 in Ottawa the son of Raymond E. Tegtmeyer, Sr. and Edna (Pearce) Tegtmeyer. He is a lifelong Ottawa resident and attended Ottawa High School. Walter was a semi-truck driver for Penny's Concrete early in his life. He then worked as a machinist and fabricator for Haven's Steel in Ottawa for over twenty years until he retired. Walter was united in marriage to Judy Henry in 1971, they later divorced. In 1977 Walter was united in marriage to Grace Craig. They also divorced. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Tegtmeyer-Harrison of Penrose, CO; grandson, Monte Robert Harrison of Penrose, CO; a brother, Dale Tegtmeyer, of Ottawa; a sister, Janice Tegtmeyer of Ottawa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Susie McCurdy; and two brothers, Ronnie Tegtmeyer and Raymond E. Tegtmeyer, Jr. The Tegtmeyer family will meet with friends on Walter's birthday from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the visitation at the Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Ottawa, KS.
