Angeline Thelma Evans

Angeline Thelma (Torgerson) Evans, 95, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Heritage of Overland Park, KS. She was born November 7, 1923 in Clay Butte Township, North Dakota the daughter of Morris and Othilda (Wisted) Torgerson. She grew up and attended schools near Dunn Center, North Dakota. On December 16, 1955, Angeline was united in marriage to Glenn A. Evans at the Vang Lutheran Church in Killdeer, North Dakota. They shared over fifty-five years of marriage before the death of her husband on September 30, 2011. She resided with her husband in White Bear Lake, Minnesota before moving to Circle Pines, Minnesota in 1961. In 1968, she moved to Zimmerman, Minnesota and moved to Paola, KS in 1979. Angie was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Paola, KS and earlier attended Faith Lutheran Church, Ottawa, KS, while participating with many church functions. She enjoyed spending time with her family, helping them as needed. She had a Servant's Heart. Angie enjoyed playing the guitar and dancing. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; two sisters, Olive Murra and Esther Johnson; and a brother, Millard Torgeson. She is survived by two sons, Douglas G. Evans and his wife, Keri of Edgerton, KS and Scott A. Evans and his wife, Micca of Paola, KS; a daughter, Linda Steigh and her husband, Gary of Lomita, CA; ten grandchildren, Cole, Wyatt, Owen, Lydia, Abby, Amber, Britton, Nellie, Carrie and Brett; and eleven great-grandchildren, Rilyn, Rissie, Ethan, Dylan, Luke, Amanda, Sammi, Talee, Lyla, Lanie and Meritt. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. Interment will follow at Peoria Cemetery, Peoria, KS.
