Anita Wiley, 62, of Osawatomie, KS died Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in Osawatomie, Kansas.
She was born September 29, 1963 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of James E. Poe and Merrita (Turley) Poe. Anita graduated from Central Heights High School in Richmond, KS with the class of 1981. She would go on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas in December of 2003.
On October 10, 1997, Anita was united in marriage to Robert Lynn Wiley at the Douglas County Courthouse in Lawrence, KS.
Anita worked as a Licensed Master Social Worker and took her career seriously. She enjoyed helping others and had a kind heart. She had various positions, working for Good Shepard Hospice, USD 290, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas. Anita also worked at the Osawatomie State Hospital for four years until she retired in 2024.
Outside of work, Anita kept herself busy by going on road trips and exploring vintage stores. She loved refurbishing things and making old things seem new again. Anita also enjoyed looking into genealogy and playing with animals.
Most of all, Anita loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Poe and Merrita (Turley) Poe and her loving husband, Robert Lynn Wiley.
She is survived by two daughters, Mia Wiley and fiancé Jonathan Rogino of Lane, Kansas and Brittany Wiley and fiancé Cody Grammer of Paola, KS; two stepsons, Nathan and Nick Wiley of Lyndon, KS; one older sister; two older brothers; and eight grandchildren, Raphael, Jenova, Vincent, Carson, Sophie, Autumn, Liam and Aramis.
Anita will be inurned at the Ruhamah Cemetery in Rantoul, Kansas at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
