Anna M. Hoover

Anna Marie Hoover, 87, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, MO.  She was born October 1, 1936 in Holcomb, KS the daughter of Joseph Baier and Monica (Unrine) Baier.  She graduated from Holcomb High School with the Class of 1954.  She later earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Avila University in Kansas City, MO.

Anna was a 3rd Grade School Teacher at Santa Fe Elementary School in Kansas City, MO.  She retired in 1995.

She was united in marriage to Duane Hoover on November 18, 1961 in Garden City, KS.  They shared over sixty-one years of marriage. 

Anna enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the world. She liked to fish and collect glassware. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed square dancing. Anna was a member of the Ladies Club of Kansas City, MO. 

Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Martin, Victor, Raymond and Joseph Baier; and two sisters, Mary Kuhlman and Irene Patton.

Surviving family includes her husband, Duane of the home; two daughters, Letisha Mocker of Overland Park, KS and Jacqueline Hoover of Overland Park, KS; a grandson, Grant Mocker; a sister, Barbara Hunter of Salina, KS; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family graveside service and inurnment will be held at the Overbrook Cemetery, Overbrook, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
