Betty Justice Obituary

Betty Lou (Plumb) Justice, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and sister passed away on August 13th, at the age of 80, in Baldwin City, Kansas. She passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on December 18, 1939 in Ava, Missouri. She was the third of three children born to Henry and Irene Plumb.

She attended St. John High School where she participated in Glee Club, the Kayettes Dance Team, Pep Club, and acted as class secretary in Student Council. Following her high school graduation in 1957, she received a Business degree from the Brown Mackie Business College.

After receiving her degree, Betty was devoted to working closely with and helping those she loved. This led to several years of dedicated service including: working in the library at Hutchinson High School, as a loan officer at Hutchinson National Bank, the Assistant to the Director of the YMCA, and the office manager at Bartlett, Settle, and Edgerle CPAs.

Danny and Betty were married on August 2, 1959 and together they had four beautiful daughters. Betty had an ardent devotion to her family and preferred to spend time with them rather than doing anything else in the world. A strong matriarch, she raised her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to believe in themselves and each other and to love each other fiercely and with their whole hearts.

She was a proud member of Park Place Christian Church in Hutchinson, Kansas and could often be found singing hymns, teaching others about God, and leading her children and grandchildren to Christ.

Betty was a strong, sassy, independent, sometimes ornery, loving woman who had a tremendous zest for life. She could always be found smiling and giggling. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, reading, golfing, laying by the pool, playing dominoes, playing bridge, golfing, bowling, and spending time with her four girls, twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Justice; her parents: Henry and Irene Plumb and her brothers: Earsell Wayne and Robert Plumb.

She is survived by her four daughters: Alrena Hostetler (John Hostetler), Brenda Willmore (Mark Willmore), Cindy Hughes (Todd Hughes-deceased), and Danell Butell (Brian Butell), her ten grandchildren: Nichole Pace (Shane Pace), Keith Hostetler, Marcus Willmore (Danielle Willmore), Holden Hostetler, Madeline Doerhoff (Brian Doerhoff), Brittain Regehr (Rachel Regehr), Jordan Hostetler, Matthew Willmore (Breanna Willmore), Cory Hughes, Adyson Jenkins (Matt Jenkins), Bridan Butell, and Briley, and eight great-grandchildren: Hailey, Damaris, Oliver, Leah, Elliana, Everett, Jaxon, and Luke, step mother in law Eleanor Justice, step sister in law Cheryl Daly (Pat Daly), sister-in-law, Bette Plumb.

Betty will be profoundly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
