Betty Oleatha (Tolle) Keithley

Betty Oleatha Keithley, 86, passed away on August 14, 2021 at her home in Baldwin City, Kansas.

She was born March 24, 1935 in Waverly, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd and Ora Oleatha (DeMasters) Tolle.  She graduated from high school in Brownsville, Nebraska with the class of 1953.

Shortly after graduating high school, on May 26, 1953, Betty was united in marriage to Harold Keithley in Kansas City, Kansas.  They shared over 61 years of loving marriage until Harold’s passing in 2014.

Betty is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Keithley; and a sister, June Greenwood.

She is survived by three sons, Dwain Keithley and his wife, Joan, Paola, KS, Steve Keithley and his wife, Lisa, Baldwin City, KS, and Rick Keithley and his wife, Angie, Tecumseh, KS; six grandchildren, Tony Keithley and his wife, Laura, Turner, KS, Danica Mitchell and her husband, Lucas, Shawnee, KS, Amber Pei and her husband, Tony, Paola, KS, Melissa Allen and her husband, Taylor, Paola, KS, and Ryan and Peyton Keithley, both of Tecumseh, KS; nine great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debbi Keithley, Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Wanda Nelson.

Betty spent her free time reading, tending her flower beds, watching soap operas, and cheering for KU basketball as well as Kyle Busch during NASCAR races.  She enjoyed going to Country & Western music shows, especially George Strait.

To celebrate Betty’s life, a visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 712 Ninth Street, Baldwin City, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Baldwin City Library Fund sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
