Betty Louise Taylor, 73, of Williamsburg, Kansas, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2025 at Rock Creek Care Home in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born in Ottawa, Kansas on December 24, 1951 to Raymond Adams and Edna Mae (Butter) Adams.
She went to Williamsburg High School and later graduated with the class of 1969. She then married Thomas Elvin Taylor Sr. on September 12, 1970 in Ottawa, KS.
During her life Betty had many jobs, including working at Casey’s General Store, Country Mart, and at the cafeteria at Eugene Field School in Ottawa, KS. Anyone who knew Betty knew that her real career was being a full-time homemaker, caring for her home and her many children. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, building puzzles, and eating candy.
Betty will best be remembered for her ability to corral kids and her deep love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elvin Taylor Sr.; one daughter, Lisa Vencel; her parents, Raymond Adams and Edna Mae (Butter) Adams; and one grandson, Dominic Taylor.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Alicia Wadkins of Williamsburg, KS, Wendy Taylor of Perry, KS, and Betty Jo Taylor of Williamsburg, KS; one son, Thomas Elvin Taylor Jr. of Hartford, KS; one sister, Bonnie Morris of Springfield, MO; and one brother, Wayne Adams of Pittsburg, KS. Betty is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2025 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, KS. To celebrate Betty’s life, a visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory Street, Ottawa, KS 66067.
