Billy Collins Obituary

Billy ‘Bill’ Lee Collins, 85, Ottawa, Kansas, passed away March 15, 2021.

He was born March 7th, 1936 in Nevada, Missouri the son of Clyde Oscar and Zola Deeta (Smith) Collins. He graduated from Vinland Rural High School and attended Baker University.

Bill was united in marriage November 26, 1958 to Frances ‘Carrol’ Anderson in Baldwin City, Kansas.

He was a member of UAW 31 Automakers and retired from General Motors in 1994. He loved the Bible, fishing, hunting and was a avid KU sports fan.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife Carrol Collins of the home; daughters Nancy DeLaTorre, Susan Luthi of Ottawa, KS; Karen Ashburn, Janet Yost (Edwin) of Aiken, SC; Julie McCormick (Jeff) of Scammon, KS, a son Bill Collins (Heidi) of Desoto, KS; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one due in May; two sisters Joy Stafford of Walla Walla, WA; Sue Von Bargen of Baldwin City, KS; one brother Donald Collins of Lawrence, KS; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services are pending at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home.
