Bruce Lee Lane, Sr., 70, of Ottawa, formerly of Melvern, KS died Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home.
He was born May 13, 1951 in Burlingame, KS the son of Harold Lane and Ila Jean Perry. Bruce grew up in Burlingame moving to Ottawa in 1969, moving to Centropolis, later to Quenemo and then to Melvern where he made his home.
Bruce was a Auto Bodyman all of his life. He worked for Joe’s Body Shop in Ottawa, Turner Chevrolet for years, Bent Fender Body Shop and owned and operated Bruce’s Body shop in Centropolis for many years.
Bruce loved his occupation. He loved cars especially a 55 Chevy. He loved that he could take a car and make it look like new and rebuild them back to their glory days. If there was an activity that his children or grandchildren were a part of he was there. He loved cheering them on in whatever it was that they were doing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger Lane, Russell Lane; a sister, Linda Lane; and grandmother, Grace Russell
Bruce is survived by his six children, Bruce Lane, Jr, and his wife Teresa, Lyndon, Michelle Fesenmeyer, Melvern, Kathryn Snover and her husband , Dustin, Ottawa, Linda Marshall, Topeka, Toni Lane, Derby, KS, Arlie Stewart and his wife, Lavonna, Ottawa; two sisters, Penny Lane, Topeka, KS and Connie Emperley and husband Bill of Burlingame, KS; a brother, Chuck Lane and wife, Mary of Texas; nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa.
