C.T. Taul Obituary

C.T. Taul, 98, of Baldwin City, KS passed away Sunday November 27, 2022 at Vintage Park, Baldwin City, KS.

He was born November 9, 1924 in Paradise, MO, the son of Wilbert “Burton” Taul and Myrtle (Hibbard) Taul.  C.T. moved with his family in 1932 to the Baldwin City area and remained there his entire life.  He attended Independence County Grade School and graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1942.

After graduating from high school C.T. was in partnership with his father and brother, Joe Ed in farming the family farm and hauling milk to Bennett’s Creamery in Ottawa.  C.T. loved his profession and enjoyed the fact that he worked with family, especially his brother, Joe Ed. As C.T. and Joe Ed's families expanded, the partnership was dissolved, and they each pursued their individual livestock and farming operations.

On August 12, 1945 C.T. was united in marriage to Betty Jean Kinyon at First United Methodist Church, Baldwin City.  They lived on the same farm for sixty-six years together until the death of Betty Jean in 2012.  C.T. was a loving and devoted husband and cared for Betty Jean during her final days.  They enjoyed their time together and were a lovely couple to be around.

C.T. was an avid sports fan and was an expert coon hunter.  He played baseball and softball in his younger years and later loved to play golf.  He enjoyed his farming and gardening and enjoyed feeding and watching the Martin birds on the back patio at the house.  He was a member of the A.S.C.S. and was Chairman and a committeeman on the board for sixteen years.  He was also a member of the Farmers Home Association for nine years and a member of the Worden United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Taul and his companion, Sherie Taylor, of Manhattan, KS, Bobby Taul and his wife, Terry, of Holton, KS; five grandchildren, Kelly Taul (Mike Charlson) of Gardner, KS, Wylie Taul (Ben Cosman) of Baldwin, Baylee Teagarden (Scott) of LaCygne, KS, Kaylee Cowles (Brenn) of Topeka, KS, Tanner Taul and his wife, Kimberli of Baldwin; and two step-grandchildren John D’Orvilliers and wife Taylor, Summer Wedermyer (Nate) seven great grandchildren; Wesley and Ellie Teagarden, Cash and Luna Cosman, Kayden, Macey and Brentley Cowles, one step-great grandchild Eisley D’Orvilliers as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
