Carol Louise Hazelwood, 70, of Gardner, Kansas passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at her home. She was born August 31, 1954 in Monett, Missouri the daughter of Glen H. Hazelwood and Etta (Reid) Hazelwood. Carol grew up and attended schools in Topeka, Kansas.
Carol worked for a Shawnee County sponsored workshop for forty years in Topeka, Kansas and later for Johnson County Developmental Supports in Lenexa, Kansas, retiring in 2020.
Carol was a princess who loved shiny glittery jewelry, cards and trinkets. She loved to sing and dance along with music videos and enjoyed playing games on the computer- tablet. She especially loved celebrating her Birthday and going out to eat lunch at Sonic or McDonald’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Etta Hazelwood.
Surviving family includes her brother, Glen Hazelwood of Lawrence, Kansas; a nephew, Adam Hazelwood and a great-niece, Megan Hazelwood.
To Celebrate Carol’s Life, a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Johnson County Developmental Supports Cafeteria, 10501 Lackman Road, Lenexa, KS 66219. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Clinton Cemetery, Lawrence, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Arcare Charitable Funds or Friends of JCDS and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
