Carolyn Dyan Browning, age 69 of Ottawa, KS passed away Sunday January 3, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS.
Carolyn was born September 26, 1951 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Dan Arnold and Emma (Sennif) Arnold. She lived nearly her entire life in Ottawa with the exception of a short time as a child living in Arizona. She attended Ottawa schools and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1969.
She worked for H.D. Lee as a seamstress until the plant closed and then worked as a solderer on the production line at Honeywell for twenty years.
Carolyn was a wonderful cook. She always made plenty of food and you never left the table hungry. She was the ideal mother and wife. The house was always clean and she always seemed to have time to help you even though she had a job herself. She was a loving and active mother, often taking her daughter skating at the rink or swimming in the summer. She loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, boating, motorcycle rides and riding in the dune buggy. If a garage sale was nearby it was hard to get the car stopped fast enough to let her out safely. She would comb over all the items and always find the most incredible deals.
On December 14, 1979, Carolyn was united in marriage to William Browning at Ottawa, KS. This past December they celebrated their forty-first year of marriage. William survives of the home in Ottawa.
Carolyn is also survived by a daughter, Rachel Browning, Ottawa; step-daughter, Jennifer Dennis, New Lexington, OH; step-son William Browning, Wellsville, KS; and three grandchildren, Deja Gragg, Emma Fleming, and Andrew Fleming.
Following Covid-19 guidelines, graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.
