Cecil Roy Prescott, 70, of Burlingame, KS passed on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from lung cancer. He was at home, with family around him. Cecil was born Feb. 16, 1950 in Eskridge, KS. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served aboard the USS Juneau and was also a member of the VFW Post 1650, Topeka, KS. Cecil worked for Vincent Roofing, Topeka, KS for 33 years and with Spencer Construction for 12 years. He loved playing music, fishing, hunting, making gun stocks and repairing most anything he could. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing, writing, and telling stories. Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Dean; mother, Jean; and a brother, John. He leaves behind his wife, Kathy of 41 years; a daughter, Hope (Christina) of Kansas City, MO; two sons, Chancler (Julie) of Rossville, GA and Ernie of Burlingame, KS; a sister, Nita (RJ) of Port St. Lucie, FL; three brothers, William (Daresa) of Osage City, KS, David (Pat) of Burlingame, KS and Richard of Scranton, KS; four grandchildren, Malichi, Josiah, Isabella and Lilly; many aunts; uncles; nephews and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the home of David Prescott. Cecil, we will miss you greatly, but you will never be forgotten!
