Cheryl Thornburgh, 76, daughter of Hubert and Beatrice (McClure) Thornburgh, was born December 14, 1946 in Seiling, Oklahoma and passed away at home May 19, 2023 in Mustang, Oklahoma.
Cheryl was raised in Burlingame, Kansas and graduated from Osage City High School in 1965. She had a love for hosting dinner parties and decorating for Christmas. Her true passion in life was her daughter, Babette.
When Babette brought home every stray animal she could find, Cheryl quickly learned how to become a vet. When Babette didn’t like her hairstyle that day, Cheryl would be standing by to wash it out and restyle it again. When Babette and her friends wanted to go roller skating, Cheryl became the weekly taxi driver. When Babette became sick, Cheryl worked nights so she could be by her side during the day. Their bond was everlasting.
After Babette passed in 1989, Cheryl began working for Southwest Airlines and retired in 2020.
Cheryl’s parents preceded her in death as well as her brothers, Bill, Bob and Jerry; her sisters, Carolyn Farris and Faye Barnwell; along with her daughter, Babette Colstrom.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Stults of Florence, Arizona; many nieces and nephews; and cherished friends.
