Cheryl L. Young, 74, of Overbrook, KS passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born May 9, 1947 in Beloit, KS the daughter of Keith Eugene Halstead and Dorthy Alice (Booher) Halstead. She graduated from Mankato High School, Mankato, KS. Cheryl attended The University of Kansas earning a Master’s Degree in Music.

Cheryl worked for the State of Kansas as an Ombudsman for the Workers Compensation Division.

She was united in marriage to Charles H. Young on May 12, 1989 in Overbrook, KS. They shared over thirty-two years of marriage.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Charles H. Young of Overbrook, KS; a son, Charles C. Young of Ottawa, KS; two sister’s Marty Malinowsky and husband Kurt of Oklahoma City, OK and Cindy Triplett and husband Mac of Pittsburgh, KS; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 730 Western Heights Drive, Overbrook, KS 66524.
