Cheyanne Alexis Dawn Baker, 28, of Ottawa, KS died Tuesday July 2, 2024 at Advent Health Ottawa.
She was born June 2, 1996 in Overland Park, KS the daughter of Melvin Shaffer and Amy Elizabeth Cox. Cheyanne grew up in Missouri and Kansas eventually spending most of her teenage years in Galena, KS, until moving to Ottawa her Senior year of school and graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 2014.
Cheyanne was currently a volunteer for Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. She loved being with the animals.
Cheyanne loved visiting with people. She was a very friendly and happy person to have in your life. She loved to go shopping and often bought things for others. She was always thinking of others, she had a very kind heart and loving personality. She accepted the lord as her personal savior at a young age and was grateful he was in her life. She regularly attended Ottawa Revival Center and Ottawa Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother Amy Cox and adoptive grandfathers, Edward Baker II and Stephen Keith, along with her beloved dog, Dot.
Cheyanne is survived by her brother, Brice Casting, McPherson, KS; adoptive father, Edward Baker III, Riverton, KS; adoptive Mother, Stephanie Baysinger and husband, Steve; adoptive sister, Kaitlin Sivert and husband Nick; nieces, Kenzley and Parker; grandparents Bruce and Sheryl Cox, Ottawa, KS; adoptive grandmothers, Judy Baker, Riverton, KS and Joyce Keith, Baxter Springs, KS; uncle, Larry Cox; aunt, Teresa Soto and her husband, Oscar, Ottawa, KS; and cousins, Tristan Cox and Fabian Soto, along with a host of adoptive aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Ottawa Bible Church; interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS. The family will greet friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Ottawa..
