Dallas Ray Hargett, 66, of Baldwin City, KS passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his home in Baldwin City, KS. He was born August 30, 1956 in Salisbury, MO the son of James Franklin Hargett and Olive Lorene (Miller) Hargett.
Dallas grew up and attended schools in Vinland and Baldwin City, KS. He worked on a Dairy Farm and later became a Heavy Equipment Operator for a Construction Company. The past ten years he was a Concrete Laborer.
Dallas enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for his outgoing friendly personality. He also enjoyed restoring cars and raced motocross.
Mr. Hargett was preceded in death by his parents, James and Olive Hargett; three brothers, James “Junior” Hargett, Kenneth Hargett and Richard Hargett; and two sisters, Kathleen Harris and Marjorie Cron.
Surviving family includes two sons, Dakota Hargett of Ottawa, KS and Dallas B. Hargett of Lawrence, KS; a daughter, Morganna M. Nichols of Lawrence, KS; and three sisters, Edith Murray of Baldwin City, KS, Betty Porter of Salisbury, MO and Bernice Howell of Franktown, CO; and five grandchildren.
