Daniel Allen Obituary

Daniel O. Allen, II, 47, of Ottawa, KS passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home.

He was born January 8, 1973 in Garnett, KS the son of Daniel O. Allen and Mary Jo (Stevenson) Daoust.  Daniel was a lifelong Franklin County resident graduating from Wellsville High School with the class of 1991.

Daniel was a Shipping Holder Manager for Regal Distribution of Lenexa most of his adult life, retiring in 2018.  He later worked for a short time at Casey’s and Wal-Mart both of Ottawa. 

He was a member of Richter United Methodist Church and an avid supporter of the LGBT community.  He was proud to fight along his friends and loved ones at many Gay PRIDE events over the years. He loved to go fishing and working on various craft.  He was a calm and gentle soul who always cared for his loved ones.  He was always excited for a family meal or dinner with friends.

On June 7, 2007 Daniel was united in marriage to Travis Franks in Kansas City, MO.  They shared fourteen years of love and devotion together.  Travis survives of their home.

He is also survived by his mother, Mary Daoust, Tipton, MO; two sisters, Jonalyn Webb, Centropolis, KS, Carrie Fiala and her husband, Leo, Harrisonville, MO; grandmother, Joyce Stephenson, Tipton, MO; aunt and uncle, Judy and David Wallace, Richmond, KS; cousins, Jeff and Matt Elder; friends Nadine grader, Wichita, KS, Danny Stanturf, Ottawa, KS; and four nephews, Marcis Englund, Tristin Fiala, Tommy Fiala, Cillian Fiala.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel O. Allen and a grandfather, Tom Eldon Stevenson.

To celebrate Daniel’s life, a memorial service will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday October 2, 2021 at the Forest Park Shelter House, Ottawa, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
