Debra Ann Houk, 64, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 following a courageous five-year battle with cancer. Debbie was born on March 14, 1962, in Eldorado Springs, Missouri, to Sharlene and Roy Houk. She graduated from Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville in 1980 before later moving to Kansas City.
In 1996, she left the Kansas City area and made her home in rural Ottawa. Debbie had a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of her life enjoying sports, shooting fireworks, and caring for her pets, cattle, and horses.
For the past 14 years, Debbie worked in the utility department at Kalmar USA until retiring due to health reasons. She truly loved her work and valued the friendships she built with her coworkers over the years.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her brother David, her father Roy, and her adopted sons, Dave and John.
Debbie is survived by her partner, Becky; her mother, Sharlene; her brother, Donnie; nieces Rachel, Melissa, Janis, Presli, and Haven; nephews Russell, Chase, Drew, Cole, Cayden, and Carlos; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Stockton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws and sent to Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
