Donald Everett Cashatt

Donald Everett Cashatt, age 93, passed into eternity at his home in Baldwin City, KS, on May 15, 2025.

Donald was born June 2, 1931 in a farm house four miles Southeast of Oskaloosa, Kansas to Paul and Bessie Cashatt. Donald attended the Lone Tree one-room schoolhouse from first through sixth grades.  Upon the closing of this country school, he attended Oskaloosa for his junior high and high school years.  After graduating Don worked on the family farm.

Donald was baptized into Christ on January 5th, 1950.  On March 5th, 1950 Donald was married to Marian Charlene Weeks.  He farmed and ran the family dairy until enrolling at Central Christian College in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to prepare to be a preacher of the gospel of Christ. 

Donald served churches in Vinland, KS; Skiatook, OK; Eudora, KS; and Omaha, NE. until 1963. At that time, he entered the insurance business with Penn Mutual.  In September 1966 Donald became sales manager for Time Insurance Company with the charge to develop a sales force in Kansas and moved his family to Lawrence. He continued in this work for 30 years.  During this period of time, he preached for the Vinland congregation and then the Eudora congregation. Additionally, Donald bought and managed three farms in the Baldwin City area.  Eventually he and Marian built a home on one of the farms.

Donald and his beloved wife, Marian, were married just shy of 70 years prior to her passing.  They raised their 3 daughters: Susan, Ruth, and Joyce in Omaha, NE and then Lawrence, KS.  Donald was a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend; and a great example in life and faith to all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Baldwin City, KS.  Interment will follow at Vinland Cemetery, Vinland, KS.  To celebrate Donald’s life, a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses of Douglas County or Vinland Cemetery and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
