Donna Jean (Elston) Thomas

Donna Jean (Elston) Thomas, 87, of Baldwin City, KS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Advent Health in Ottawa, KS, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born November 30, 1937 in Lawrence, KS the daughter of Donald Elston and Edith (Garner) Elston. 

Donna lived a long and fulfilling life, bringing warmth, kindness, and love to everyone she met.  She will be remembered for her strength, her caring heart, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends in her Stitchin’Granny’s Group, where she shared laughter, creativity and lasting friendships.

She is survived by her children, Danny Guy and wife Heather of Hudson, FL, Debbie Bowman of Baldwin City, KS and Darren Guy and significant other, Dana LeRow of Baldwin City, KS;  her grandchildren, Jennifer Jaeger, Lacy Dorsey and husband, Xanth, Jessica Slifer and husband, Daniel, Jody Guy and Dillon Guy; her great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Isis, Jason, Osiris, Casey, Jaden, Molly, Charlie, Odin, and Ameila; and her great-great grandchild, Jaxon.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Edith Elston; all of her siblings;  her husband Doug Thomas; a nephew, Michael Lee; and grandson, Zachary Guy.  

Donna’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 700 Chapel Street, Baldwin City, KS 66006.  Inurnment will follow at a later date at Stony Point Cemetery, Vinland, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Donna Thomas Memorial Fund and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
