Doris Lee (Griffin) Cox

Doris Lee (Griffin) Cox, 87, of Ottawa, KS died Thursday, April 11, 2024 in Ottawa, Kansas.

She was born October 29, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Arthur and Jessie (Gibson) Griffin. 

On September 23, 1952, Doris was united in marriage to Mosie James Cox in Liberty, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jessie Griffin; her husband, Mosie Cox; a son, Jim Cox; a daughter, Lena Mitchell; a brother, Jack Griffin; three sisters, Mabel Holland, Pearl, and Rose; a granddaughter, Pam Kirkland; and a great-granddaughter, Kendra.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Houston and her husband, John, of Ottawa, KS, and Kay McCurdy and her husband, Jim, of Ottawa, KS; a niece, Dixie Taylor and her husband, Oscar, of Ottawa, KS; a sister, Lucille Haynes of Kansas City, MO; 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday April 17, 2024 at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS.  To celebrate Doris’ life, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Doris Cox Memorial Fund and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
