Dorothy Marie (Hedrick) Norman

Dorothy Marie (Hedrick) Norman, 82, of Osawatomie, Kansas died Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in her home.

She was born November 18, 1942 in Marion, Kansas the daughter of Claude and Mildred (Sims) Hedrick. 

In 1961, Dorothy was united in marriage to Paul Grigsby.  Paul passed away in 1982.  On January 19, 1990, Dorothy was united in marriage to Herbert Norman.  He preceded her in death in 2012 after 22 loving years. 

Dorothy worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for Parvin Street St. Mary’s Hospital, retiring in 2007. 

Dorothy loved feeding people, and when you visited, she had to make something for you.  She loved her family and always wanted the grandbabies brought over to see her.  She also adored her poodle, Bells.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mildred Hedrick; her husbands, Paul Grigsby and Herbert Norman; a brother, Charles Hedrick; and a sister, Shirley Schroeder.

She is survived by three daughters, Shawn Barnes of Lawrence, KS, Paula Sulls of Osawatomie, KS, and Teresa Patton of Osawatomie, KS; two sons, Terry Jantz of Warsaw, MO and Ron Jantz of Osawatomie, KS; two brothers, Kenny Hedrick of Oklahoma and Eugene Hedrick of California; two sisters, Evelyn Riffle of Texas and Rhonda Tingen of Florida; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 712 Ninth St, Baldwin City, KS 66006.  Interment will follow at Clearfield Cemetery, Eudora, KS.  To celebrate Dorothy’s life, a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Baldwin City, KS.  Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
